Hello

Hey guys

Sorry i was not in class on Thursday but i was really sick. the school nurse said i could pass it to others and i was in and out of the bathroom. just what you love to hear. I did enjoy looking at all the homepages. i do use them in the classroom to get ideas for different topics. i do wish mine could look like those but i just do not have the time to put into it. i guess it's on that long list of things to do.

Midterm

Hey guys

Just wondering if people started working on the midterm? The questions that we need to do in class is not worring me it's the other questions. I don't know how much to write or how much not to write. I don't know if we should make list or write it all out. I guess I need to look over it again and again and just get started. Kathy just wondering what you would like to do for our group project. I think we went through and highlighted all the important topics we need to cover. Let me know what you think and we can work in class. Are we prestenting this to the class or are they just looking at them? I don't know.

Chapter 2

The one idea that I really picked up on in this chapter was that you should not teach navigating skills alone. That you should teach tech as a whole and not navigating skill seperate. I do find that when my students do use the computer in the classroom and they never been expose to one before they do pick up skills quickly. They learn the mouse on their own and how the click. I do find that they have a hard time moving the mouse and tend to get out of a program. They do need to learn the navigating skills first. I also found that it helps to do this in a small group.

I looked through some of the websites. I did find myself losing track at what I was doing. I was going through the sites and finding new and different things. I can see how children need to learn how to stay focus on the task at hand.

Blog 3

The article did get me thinking that there is different purposes for reading now that we have the internet. There is also a new way of reading now that we have the internet. I liked Mrs. Silverman's webfolio. I showed new ideas on how to use tech. in different grades. I do think that it is important to introduce the computer and other tech. young. Children need to learn not to be scared of different things and that they can use these things as well. It is hard to use different tech. in the classroom when many of my children have never been on a computer. I only have one computer that is on the internet and I am really dragging my feet about bringing 18 five year olds to a computer lab by myself. It's finding the time to learn new ways to use tech to enhance your teaching. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas or what they use in the classroom.

Chapter 1

Sorry it took me so long to do this but I could not figure out how to post a new blog. Everyone at work thinks it's funny. All their teenagers have blogs and now I do too.

I read chapter 1 and thought it was very interesting. Tech. is continually changing and we have to keep up with the times. I looked at many of the websites with chapter 1. I thought they have many good ideas. I do find it difficult to use the computers with the kindergarten children. I am alone in the classroom and many of my children never been on a computer. We have a computer lab but I have never brought my kids up there. Any ideas?

Day 1

This is totally new to me. I do not really know what to write about. I guess I will start with telling everyone alittle about me. I am a kindergarten teacher in Middletown. I am at alittle school called Macdonough. This is my fifth year. I have a 9 month old daughter named Lauren.

At my school we are part of a literacy collabrative and have a 3 year grant.
